Drew Barrymore Recalls How Val Kilmer Made Her Feel 'Safe' in Hollywood

Drew Barrymore is reflecting back on her friendship with former costar Val Kilmer. The daytime talk show host, 50, told Us Weekly exclusively that Kilmer championed her on set when the two filmed Batman Forever nearly 30 years ago. The Top Gun actor, who starred as the titular hero in the '90s superhero flick, died on April 1 at age 65 after a battle with pneumonia. I remember Val Kilmer very dearly, Barrymore recalled to Us at CBS Fest on Wednesday, May 7.
