Sir Alex Ferguson was the ultimate Boss. Everybody wanted to emulate his Manchester United team, including us at Liverpool. He had a presence and aura, confidence and authority which completely transferred through to his players. It was always a challenge to match their levels. Fergie's biggest strength was motivating these great players to stay hungry all the time. Maintaining standards season after season separated United from the rest, and we also all knew about his ruthlessness.

The rich autumn of Chris Wood's career continues apace with the 32-year-old New Zealander equalling Nottingham Forest's Premier League goals record to put them back in the top six. Wood's penalty early in the second half matched Bryan Roy's club tally of 24 goals and while the award was soft for a touch on Jota Silva, the striker's powerful finish into the roof of the net was not. It was Woods' ninth goal of the season for his club to which he added five for his country during the last international break.

The defining image of this Wolves horror show came at half-time when keeper Jose Sa went into the South Bank to fume at some of his own fans who were abusing him, and were subsequently ejected by the stewards. It was the only thing that went Sa's way on an afternoon where Bournemouth's Justin Kluivert became the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick of penalties.

Harry Kane was forced off injured during the first half of Bayern Munich's clash with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Despite Bayern controlling much of the early portion of the game, Jamie Gittins fired Dortmund ahead against the run of play, with the England youth international opening the scoring after 27 minutes in Der Klassiker. Just minutes later Kane went down off the ball and could be seen clutching his left knee with the severity of the issue immediately apparent as he signalled over Bayern's medical staff.

Moton took to Instagram to explain what led to him failing to make the agreed weight.
