UNSETTLING scene photographs from Stephen Smith’s 2015 demise have been launched, displaying his physique lying on the ground surrounded by blood.
The investigation into the teen’s death has been reopened, and it is now being treated as a homicide.
Smith, who the police originally believed to be the victim of a hit-and-run, was found laying in the midst of the street.
There have been no roadside indicators of a collision, corresponding to broken glass or tire tracks.
Alex Murdaugh, a former South Carolina lawyer, was convicted earlier this month of killing his wife Maggie and son Paul, who have been found lifeless in 2021.
Eric Bland, a lawyer for Smith’s family, said to Regulation&Crime that an unnamed “piece of evidence” related to Smith’s demise was discovered through the Murdaugh probe, Newsweek reported.
